Randy Pausch's Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood
Dreams
On Sept. 18, 2007, Carnegie Mellon professor Randy Pausch,
who had been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic
cancer, gave his last lecture to a packed McConomy
Auditorium audience.
In this moving and inspiring lecture, Pausch talked about
the lessons he had learned in life and offered advice to
students on how to achieve their own personal and professional
goals.
He died on July 25, 2007 at the age of 47. His last
lecture has gone on to touch the lives of millions.
(This video has been viewed more than eight million
times.)
This video is not only an amazing example of
the power of a father's love, it's also a profound
demonstation of the power of the human spirit. This is a
glimpse at the remarkable true story
of Dick Hoyt and his son Rick. You'll need a hankie for
this one.
Had a bad day? In a blue mood? Watch this video
and you're bound to cheer right up. You may even learn
something about enlightenment.
Games With A Purpose
Wouldn't if be nice if you could find a way to play
a fun game and do useful
work at the same time? Well, now you can.
That's the idea behind GWAP...Games With A Purpose.
Developed by Carnegie Mellon University's Computer Science
department, GWAP allows people to play fun games what
simultaneously help solve large-scale
problems. They've even created a fun video to illustrate
the concept:

"Inside each human being lies a dormant
but extraordinary potential that, once unleashed, can
turn any desire, dream or vision into reality. Tapping
into that potential will not only enrich that
individual's life, but will be of benefit to us
all."-- Nadia
